INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF AUTHORS WELCOMES
NEW YORK CITY TO WORD ALLIANCE PARTNERSHIPTORONTO, August 25, 2011 ----- The International Festival of Authors (IFOA) is delighted to welcome the PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature in New York into the ground-breaking group of international Literary Festivals that is the Word Alliance. Formed in 2010, the Word Alliance is a collaboration between literary festivals which aims to present the best authors to international audiences at events around the globe. This new addition comes at a time of literary hustle and bustle as the Edinburgh International Book Festival is currently in full swing and planning for this year’s IFOA is at its peak.Geoffrey E. Taylor, Director of the IFOA said: "We are excited to welcome New York to the Word Alliance. Our current partnership has already led to several opportunities to collaborate on the international stage. The inclusion of New York, given the proximity, allows for some interesting and unique collaborations for the IFOA in the future.”The Word Alliance includes: Bookworm International Literary Festival in Beijing, Edinburgh International Book Festival, the International Festival of Authors in Toronto, the International Literature Festival in Berlin, the Jaipur Literary Festival, the Melbourne Writers Festival, and PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature in New York.
