IFOA HITS THE STREET WITH A CONTEST & GIVEAWAY TO KICK OFF THIS YEAR’S FESTTORONTO, October 12, 2010 ---- To kick off this year’s International Festival of Authors (IFOA) (October 20 to 30, 2010), Canada’s biggest and brightest literary event, the IFOA team, with help from the staff at The Walrus magazine, take to the streets of Toronto on Tuesday, October 19 for a huge contest and giveaway featuring signed books by famous past IFOA participants, tickets to this year’s event, and free Walrus magazines. Staff from the IFOA will be at the intersection of King and Bay Streets in downtown Toronto between the hours of 7am and 9am to provide an opportunity for book lovers to enter a draw to win signed books by past IFOA participants and tickets to this year's festival. The following signed books will be up for grabs: John Irving – The Fourth HandJ.K. Rowling – Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireA.S. Byatt – The Children's BookScott Turow – Reversible ErrorsSalman Rushdie – Step Across This LineThe IFOA team will also be joined by staff from The Walrus to hand out 2,000 free Walrus magazines on this same date and time. Ballots to enter the contest will be available to download from the IFOA’s official website, www.readings.org, beginning on Friday, October 15. Ballots will also be available on the day of the contest/giveaway at the intersection of King and Bay Streets. Please see contest conditions below. Contest Conditions: Entries must be received in person at the intersection of King and Bay Streets in downtown Toronto between the hours of 7am and 8:30am on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. A total of 5 draws will take place between the hours of 7am and 9am on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. In order to be eligible for all draws, ballots must be submitted by 7:15am. Individual must be present to be eligible to win.
