Music with Bite returns to Harbourfront Centre for final performances of the season
FREE interactive concerts for kids feature cabaret performer Patricia O’Callaghan
and medieval ensemble SkarazulaTORONTO, ON (Tuesday, Apr. 13, 2010) – Harbourfront Centre is thrilled to present the next installment of Music with Bite, an interactive and intimate FREE concert series designed especially for kids ages five to 12.The next Music with Bite concert features Canada’s own Patricia O’Callaghan on Sunday, April 18, 2010. The whole family can enjoy a vocal performance by the most promising cabaret performer of her generation. O’Callaghan has performed her critically-acclaimed show around Europe and North America; she has also toured the Juno Award-winning opera Constantinople. O’Callaghan is no stranger to the camera; she appeared in CBC’s Youkai Hotel and the acclaimed series, Foolish Heart. Music with Bite is a refreshing experience where children can pull up a comfy cushion and sit in front of the stage for an enjoyable, interactive music performance tailored to young audience members. This is a fantastic opportunity to sample music of diverse styles in a friendly, accessible format. All of the artists performing bring an element of interactivity, education and entertainment to their programmes. After the concerts, children can enjoy a complimentary Natrel® milk beverage and cookie. In partnership with Jeunesses Musicales Ontario.This season’s Music with Bite series concludes with a performance by Skarazula on Sunday, May 23, 2010, as a part of the annual HarbourKIDS: Circus festival weekend. Audiences young and old can journey into time and space to medieval Europe with Skarazula! This group of musicians sings in various different languages while playing unusual instruments.
