Harbourfront Centre continues to build on relationship with Woodland Cultural Centre,
offering new Planet IndigenUs workshops in movement and marketing
-----Planet IndigenUs is a multi-disciplinary arts festival showcasing Canadian Aboriginal performers and artists in an international context. It is a celebration of the innovation, adaptability and evolution of indigenous identity.
Workshops:“MORE WITH LE$$”Woodland Cultural Centre (Brantford, ON)Tuesday, March 9, 2010 – 12 p.m. noon to 2 p.m., including a pizza lunchParticipants will be introduced to basic marketing principles and learn the fine art of achieving MORE WITH LE$$. Current trends in social media will be examined, with tips on hot to get started online, fast track your growth and expand your business. This workshop will be led by Averill Maroun, Harboufront Centre’s Manager of Marketing Promotions, and Riley Wallace, Harbourfront’s Social Media Coordinator.“PASSION FOR THE ARTS – DREAMING WITH OPEN EYES” Wahta Mohawks Administration Building (Wahta, ON)Tuesday, March 16, 2010 – 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.Students will explore movement/dance, body awareness and traditional Iroquoian dance footwork. Activities include: Gada:tro:t (Stomp Dance); Gayowaga:yoh (Old Moccasin Dance) and a closer look at the North American Native Hoop Dance.
