Innovative Work from Montréal-based Collective PME-ART Seeks to Challenge Audiences and Explore the Social Dynamic with a Bold New Performance

TORONTO, ON – October 29, 2008Harbourfront Centre and Montréal-based collective PME-ART are thrilled to present the world premiere of Hospitality 3: Individualism Was a Mistake, Wednesday, November 19 through Saturday, November 22, 2008. Showcasing the talents of three ingenious artists, Caroline Dubois, Claudia Fancello and Jacob Wren, Hospitality 3: Individualism Was a Mistake focuses primarily on the social dynamic and the difficulties that arise when people work together. This examination of collaboration marks the fourth production of World Stage 08:09, which continues through May 2009 at Harbourfront Centre.

Single tickets and specially priced packages for all World Stage performances are on sale through the Harbourfront Centre box office at 416-973-4000, or through

Embracing an indie rock spirit that uses guitars, keyboards and various instruments, the artists of PME-ART work to achieve a genuine sense of connection with the audience and seek to evaluate if Hospitality 3: Individualism Was a Mistake can intersect and impact the lives of the performers and the audience. Fusing improvisational technique with other traditional and non-traditional theatre practices, Dubois, Fancello and Wren perform as themselves and create actions, conditions and speech executed with a singular intimacy and familiarity that seeks to reduce the separation between performer and spectator.

Full of paradoxes and contradictions, Hospitality 3: Individualism Was a Mistake is often destabilizing and echoes the social and personal discomfort so often encountered in daily life. It is the acknowledgement of these assorted uncomfortable realities that is of fundamental importance for PME-ART.

Jacob Wren and PME-ART are leaders of an exciting underground movement in theatre and have amassed a huge following in Europe. This world premiere in their native land presents a rare opportunity to see this new production before the rest of the globe.
