Montréal’s Controversial Choreographer Dave St-Pierre Arrives at
Harbourfront Centre with La Pornographie des âmes (Bare Naked Souls)

TORONTO, ON – October 23, 2008 – Montréal’s Dave St-Pierre brings his groundbreaking dance creation La Pornographie des âmes (Bare Naked Souls) to World Stage 08:09 for its Toronto debut, Wednesday, November 12 through Saturday, November 15, 2008. This rapidly rising star of contemporary dance brings his fierce spectacle to Harbourfront Centre’s newly renamed and refurbished Fleck Dance Theatre (formerly the Premiere Dance Theatre) as the third production of World Stage 08:09, which continues through May 2009 at Harbourfront Centre.

Single tickets and specially priced packages for all World Stage performances are on sale through the Harbourfront Centre box office at 416-973-4000, or through

St-Pierre’s La Pornographie des âmes has ignited, and often polarized, audiences all over the world, earning him the status of ‘enfant terrible’ from many critics. St-Pierre describes the work as “a hymn to mankind, a celebration of his beauty and ugliness, his depth and superficiality.” The first in a trilogy that explores human relationships, La Pornographie des âmes sweeps the audience along in a sparkling, grand spectacle exploring taboos with uncompromising content, namely an often fully nude cast of 17 male and female performers.

St-Pierre says he wants audiences to leave his shows “rapturous or raging”, but connected: "Life is a risk. War is shocking. Making a show isn't. I want to speak to people."
