Anyone Can Learn to Skate at Harbourfront Centre’s Natrel Rink
Winter 2006-2007!

Toronto, October 23, 2006. Harbourfront Centre’s Natrel Rink invites skaters of all ages and abilities to Learn to Skate starting November 20, 2006. Participants can take advantage of over 65 classes for children and adults designed specifically to suit each student’s skill level, from first-time skaters to those looking to improve on their skating technique. Children’s skating lessons offer four levels – Parent & Tot (ages 3-5 with adult) each 30 minute class emphasizes fun and participation, Kinderskate (ages 4-6) teaches basic skills and ice games, Beginner (ages 7-14) improves balance and confidence while teaching students how to stop and skate forwards and backwards, and Intermediate (ages 7-14) teaches more advanced students to improve crossovers, turns and stops.

For adults there are three programs, Absolute Beginners is designed for first-time skaters and teaches the confidence skaters need when starting and stopping, while Adult Refresher allows seasoned skaters to revive unused talents or improve already learned skills. Adults can also Learn at Lunch with 30 minute classes designed for beginner and intermediate skaters that allow participants to make the most out of their lunch hour.

There are two sessions for Learn to Skate at The Natrel Rink, Session One for children and adults runs from November 20 to December 10, 2006 with two classes per week for three weeks.Session Two for children and adults runs from January 8 to February 18, 2007, with one class per week for six weeks. Prices for classes range from $45 to $85 (for six classes).

The Natrel Rink will be open and free to the public from November 18, 2006 to March 11, 2007 (weather permitting). The Natrel Rink is fully supervised by Harbourfront Centre’s Rink Marshalls. CSA-approved hockey helmets are mandatory for all Learn to Skate participants. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled.
