Winter Family Weekends at Harbourfront Centre
Dec. 14-15 & Dec. 21-22
Part of Winterfest on Toronto’s Waterfront


TORONTO, ON (Thursday, Nov. 28, 2012) – Harbourfront Centre is pleased to partner with the Waterfront BIA to present four fun-filled days along Toronto's waterfront. Sharpen your skates, or rent a pair on-site, and take a whirl around the Natrel Rink. Or get your hands dirty with some hands-on winter crafts in Miss Lou’s Room. Whatever you’re into, Harbourfront Centre’s got it at Winter Family Weekends as part of Waterfront BIA’s Winterfest on Toronto’s Waterfront on Saturday, Dec. 14; Sunday, Dec. 15; Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22.

Harbourfront Centre’s Winter Family Weekends events:

Skating on the Natrel Rink
Sunday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Families are invited to enjoy everyone’s favourite winter pastime on the Natrel Rink. Tucked away behind York Quay Centre and set against the beautiful shoreline of Lake Ontario, the city’s most scenic rink awaits. No skates? You can rent them from Harbourfront Centre along with helmets, too.

DJ Skate Nights: Season Launch with Skratch Bastid
Saturday, December 14 from 8-11 p.m. (part of the weekly series from December to March)
Rock the Natrel Rink as DJ Skratch Bastid kicks off the 2013/14 DJ Skate Nights series.

1 LOVE T.O. Holiday Skating Party with DJ DLUX and DJ Lissa Monet
Saturday, December 21 from 8-11 p.m. (part of the weekly series from December to March)
Celebrate knowledge, culture, identity, love and life at the 1 LOVE T.O. Holiday Skating Party with DJ DLUX and DJ Lissa Monet. 1 LOVE T.O. is a movement that bridges the gaps between cultures, neighbourhoods, interests and generations.

Hands-On Activities for Families
December 14-15, 21-22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There’s no better way to welcome the holiday season than with handmade holiday decorations. Create and decorate your own holiday tree centerpiece, make a festive wreath to hang at home or design your very own herd of reindeer ornaments. Visit our experienced facilitators in Miss Lou’s Room for tons of creative holiday fun.

Winter Scavenger Hunt
December 14-22 at various times
Discover Harbourfront Centre this holiday season while on a scavenger hunt with the whole family. Warm up, hang out, spend some time with us – there’s a whole world waiting for you here at the heart of Toronto’s waterfront.

Of course, there is so much more happening at Harbourfront Centre all season long.
