Learn to Skate at Harbourfront Centre
Generously Supported by RBC Play Hockey
Over 100 classes for all ages!

TORONTO, ON (Oct. 31, 2013) – Make this the winter you learn to skate on the city’s most picturesque outdoor rink! Harbourfront Centre, with the generous support of RBC Play Hockey, offers over 100 skating classes for all ages with private and group options, taught by our experienced and supportive skating instructors. Classes are offered from November 2013 to March 2014.

Each Learn to Skate class is designed specifically to suit each student’s skill and comfort level, from first-time skaters to those looking to improve their skating technique. Small class sizes ensure that students learn in a fun, safe and comfortable environment over a four-week period. Those that want to learn fancier moves can also sign up for the new adult Figure Skating Skills course to learn basic skills including spirals, jumps and basic footwork.

All classes take place on the Natrel® Rink, which has been an unparalleled skating destination in Toronto for 30 years and is set against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Ontario. Skate times include 55 minutes of instruction with five minutes of free skate (excludes Parent and Tot). The first Learn to Skate classes begin on November 19 (weather permitting), with more sessions being offered in January and February.

If you don’t have skates, Harbourfront Centre offers figure and hockey skate rentals for $8, helmets for $5 and/or both for $11 per day (limited sizes available). Please note that all Learn to Skate participants are required to wear CSA-approved hockey helmets. Harbourfront Centre also provides coin-operated lockers, heated change rooms and washrooms for your convenience. A hot and cold food and beverage service is also available at Lakeside Local Bar & Grill, along with 24-hour parking at the underground lot located on our site, just at the foot of Lower Simcoe.

For information on Learn to Skate courses and to register for classes the public can call 416-973-4093 or visit harbourfrontcentre.com/learntoskate. Register early to avoid disappointment! Classes cancelled due to weather conditions will be rescheduled.
