TORONTO, ON (Jan.17, 2013) – Harbourfront Centre is pleased to announce that CIBC LunarFest, the celebration of the Lunar New Year, will be held from Friday, Feb. 8 through to Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. CIBC LunarFest is Canada's premier presenter of contemporary expression in Asian arts and culture.

The 2013 edition features an array of events the whole family can enjoy, including a Lantern Jungle where children and adults are invited to follow a treasure map and explore Harbourfront Centre’s site the Indiana Jones way!

Additional festival highlights include:

• Eastern Legends – a choreographed music performance from Chai Found Music Workshop
• Dumpling Fest – an assortment of delicious dumplings from around Asia
• Lantern Cinema – a documentary on world’s largest lantern festival in Taiwan
• Lion Dancers of the World – a parade of Lion Dancers from 6 different cultures
• LunarSkate – DJ Serious spins a fresh, eclectic mix of hip hop, soul, funk and classics on The Natrel® Rink
• CIBC Pavilion – Free photo booth and snake lantern hats, special offers and activities for kids

This season’s programming explores The Big IDEA of “Re.” When placed in front of another word, “re” asks us to consider something again. It challenges our vantage points, makes us question the familiar and examine our assumptions. It asks us to look back to the places we’ve journeyed from. And that, for us, is one of the fundamental aims of artistic expression.

We invite you to consider (or is that reconsider?) the impact of “re” on your world. What places will you return to? What will you rediscover? Where will “re” take you?
