IFOA ONTARIO: ON THE ROAD
Visiting 14 communities across Ontario

Toronto, September 4--- The 33rd annual International Festival of Authors (IFOA) hits the road again for its annual touring programme, IFOA Ontario, bringing literary events to 14 locations across the province from October 16 to November 2. This year Canadian and international authors will visit Barrie, Brantford, Burlington, Hamilton, Markham, Midland, Parry Sound, Picton, Orillia, Owen Sound, Thunder Bay, Uxbridge, Windsor and Woodstock.

Now in its sixth year, IFOA Ontario partners with libraries, bookstores, universities, and community organizations across Ontario to help provide areas with access to IFOA’s roster of best contemporary writers from around the globe.

Geoffrey E. Taylor, Director of IFOA, says: “We're very pleased to continue to bring well-established authors to communities across Ontario, and to help authors who are well-established in their own markets find an audience in Canada for the first time. The enthusiasm of our partners and their audiences is a reminder of how much Ontarians value opportunities to meet and connect with authors."

Participating authors include award-winning novelist and essayist John Ralston Saul, Scotiabank Giller Prize winner Vincent Lam, Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize winner Annabel Lyon and 2012 Man Booker Prize-nominated author Ned Beauman. Programming also includes Marjorie Celona, Rawi Hage, Joanne Harris, Jane Johnson, Chan Koonchung, Laura Lippman, Erlend Loe, C.S. Richardson, Salman Rushdie, Cordelia Strube, Susan Swan, Benjamin Wood and many others. Visit litontour.com for a full list of participants, events and biographies.

IFOA Ontario is also pleased to continue its partnership with the Writers’ Trust of Canada to present readings by the finalists for the 2012 Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.

Tickets can be purchased through the box offices listed in the schedule of events below, online at litontour.com or through the Harbourfront Centre Box Office at 416-973-4000.
