Skate to the beat with Toronto's top DJs!

TORONTO, ON (Dec.29, 2011) Harbourfront Centre transforms the Natrel® Rink into a club-like experience with DJ Skate Night! Some of Toronto's best DJs will be on-site to transform cold winter nights into a funky skate party!

Every Saturday night from Jan. 7 to Feb.18, 2012 features a new DJ spinning all kinds of groovy tunes including house, funk, soul, reggae, soca and pop-rock from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Throughout January and February, DJ Skate Night showcases 7 FREE late-night skating events with Toronto’s best mix-masters. January events include CHERRY BOMB DJs, Cratery, DJ medicineman and a special celebration of the Lunar New Year, LunarSkate, presented by CIBC LunarFest. The first weekend of February features a Kuumba skate celebration featuring Dr. Jay de Soca Prince as a part of Harbourfront Centre’s Black History Month festival. The following weekend continues to highlight the rhythms of the tropics at a reggae skate jam with CIUT’s DJ Patrick Roots. The 2012 DJ Skate Night season ends with an all-female hip hop showcase with DJ MelBoogie & JJ Rock of DD Radio.

Skaters looking for a post-skate warm-up can enjoy outdoor fire pits right next to the rink to heat up those fingers and toes! Patrons can also play board games, watch movies and sporting events and enjoy gourmet soups, chili, coffee and hot chocolate inside the newly renovated Lakeside Eats restaurant and lounge!

DJ Skate Night is a part of Harbourfront Centre’s SKATE CULTURE programme that celebrates Canada’s winter culture. All SKATE CULTURE events take place on the beautiful Natrel® Rink located along the scenic shores of Lake Ontario at 235 Queens Quay W, in the heart of Toronto’s downtown waterfront.
